Hey everyone!

First off I want to apologize for the delay releasing the Deathmare community vote pin design! Right after Pin Quest ended, I had the artwork for it almost finished before I realized I needed to dive straight into packing/shipping orders for my last Pintopia Rebirth & Ruin campaign. I really needed to get that campaign wrapped up so I could focus on Pin Quest and my other upcoming projects.


And finally, here's the Deathmare pin reveal!! 🎉

This pin will be an XL pin at 3" tall/wide, and I plan on doing orange glitter on the wings + lots of screenprinted details to give it that fire look🩵❤️🧡💛🔥 Think Dark Fantasy Pegasus with Hellfire wings 😻🤟🏼



More great news: the surveys are almost ready! I’m on track to sending out the Smoke Test surveys toward the end of this week/beginning of next week to start getting the final counts. I’ve already sent the artwork over to my manufacturer so they can start working on the molds while we wait for final quantity numbers from the surveys.

I really appreciate your patience waiting for the Deathmare pin art and for this update to come out! 🙏🏼 For full transparency on the short delay, I’ve also been dealing with a lot in real life including my grandma passing away last month and getting mentally burnt out with my busy work schedule/packaging several hundred orders as fast as possible for Pintopia.

It's been hard juggling it all lately, but I'm trying my best to stay positive during this time and I'm working every day to keep myself and the campaign going along!

Hey everyone!!

Thank you all so much for bringing "Myths of the Underworld" to life over the past few weeks! I’m so grateful for all your support and excitement in these new dark mythology designs I've created!! 🖤 Whether you pledged on the first day or in the final hour of the campaign, you helped shape the direction of this cool new RPG-style campaign, and I couldn’t have done it without you!! 🥰🙏🏼

🐍 New Pin Reveal: Jörmungandr's Ouroboros! 🌎

I meant to reveal some rough sketches of the Community Poll Winners Jörmungandr and Deathmare pin designs the day the campaign ended, but after my first few drawings that day, I just wasn’t happy with the majority of what I had sketched on my iPad. I got frustrated and decided to sleep on it. I spent all day yesterday mostly concentrating on the Jörmungandr pin design because I was starting to nail down a design I actually liked.
 


✏️ Here's some of my better sketch concepts out of the bunch before I got to my final design layout~ Looking back now, i actually really like this 1st sketch as a chibi mini pin or something, future pin to unlock in the Survey Add-on Shop? ;D



📣 Finally, here is the Jörmungandr World Serpent Pin in 2 color variants!! 🐍🌎🎉 




I really wanted both the ouroboros tail biting concept and the globe shown in the same design. So after coming up with some more sketches, I came up with this design I was super happy with and finalized the lineart to get a final pin quote! The last thing I'm working on is adding some ribbed horizontal underbelly scales, so I'll show that edit in a future update! :)

I'm still talking with my pin manufacturer locking down the pin specs, but here's what I'm thinking:
  • 2" hard enamel
  • Gunmetal finish
  • Screen-printed details for the scales and globe details

Jörmungandr's Backstory:


In Norse mythology, Jörmungandr, also known as the Midgard Serpent or World Serpent. He is a monstrous sea serpent, son of Loki and brother to Fenrir the Wolf. A prophecy claimed that he would bring about the end for the gods during Ragnarök, so Odin cast the young serpent into the ocean surrounding Midgard (the world of humans).

In the Ocean, Jörmungandr grew to such an enormous size that he could encircle the entire Earth and grasp his own tail in his mouth symbolizing the ouroboros: a symbol of rebirth, eternity, and the universe's interconnectedness of all things.

He is destined to remain in the ocean until Ragnarök: a series of catastrophic events, including a great battle, that leads to the destruction of the world and the death of many gods. It is during Ragnarök that Jörmungandr will emerge to battle Thor, ultimately leading to both of their deaths.

Should we go with a classic green snake, or should we go with a special light teal color inspired by the game God of War: Ragnarök? Or maybe we should just unlock both?? lol You decide!!

When it comes to drawing speed, I'm not the quickest artist because I erase and sketch on top of so many layers until I basically sculpt the final look I'm envisioning. So I'm going to work on the Deathmare pin design over the weekend so I can create something I really love/want to show off to you all! Keep an eye out on the next update for that~

Also just incase I haven't mentioned it yet, you'll be able to choose the Jörmungandr and Deathmare pin designs in your survey! If you need to add more pins onto to your pledge, no worries! Both designs will be available in the Backerkit Survey Add-on Shop at a discounted cost~

🗓️ What Happens Next?


BackerKit is now processing all pledges which usually takes about 2 weeks. During this time:
  • If your payment didn’t go through, BackerKit will send you a reminder email. Please update your info ASAP if needed so you don’t miss out on your pins!
  • I'll be working behind the scenes on your surveys! You’ll be able to confirm your pledge, add extras, and even help unlock a final few designs/variants from the Community Poll! Please fill it out ASAP so I can get final counts in for my manufacturer :)
  • While I'm finishing the Deathmare pin design over the weekend, I'll also start sketching some extra pin design ideas from the Community Poll votes
  • When the Backer Surveys are released after 2 weeks or so, I'll also open the "Pre-order Store" for those who missed out on the campaign! 
  • If you're waiting on pins from my last campaign, those will be mailed out in-between the tasks above! It shouldn't take me long, losing my phone last week set my schedule back a little. But this will be easy to knock out in just a few short days. Keep an eye on your emails ^_^

Hello everyone!

Apologies for the delay in updates, I meant to post this a lot sooner, but life had other plans last week. This update is a bit long, so stick around to see all the new items I have available in the last stretch of Pin Quest! 😊🙏🏼

First, a quick recap what happened last week: I went on a kayaking trip for a friend’s birthday and I basically flipped my kayak, myself, and all my belongings into the river. I ended up losing my phone, driver's license, credit cards, basically everything I need to be a functioning member of society lol 🫠😆… To top it off, I came home with an ear infection after I was stuck in the undertow for a second (yay! lol)



One of my first thoughts after noticing my phone and wallet were probably lost at the bottom of the river, "How am I going to log into Backerkit and Instagram to post updates?? Ughhh... 😫" lol So while I was recovering and getting everything replaced after work, I used the rest of my downtime to update the campaign page details and finish the artwork for the Fenrir variants and the "Eyes of the Beasts" mini pin set! Take a look!! 🧿

*Work in Progress* I'm still finalizing the fur shading details on Fenrir's legs/cleaning up the fur lines in general. I wanted the fur strokes to be similar to my Fox pin "Eternal Rest," I think they look great next to each other! :)

 🧜🏼‍♀️ Original Siren full body pin design:

I had also planned this Siren pin design from the beginning of this campaign, I just haven't had the chance to release her yet because of last week! This was my original concept for my current Siren pin, but I changed her design to be just 2" to match the rest of my Femme pins. 

I'm making this pin into 2 variants, each with a numbered LE number (Limited Edition #1-100) printed on the back of each pin. These will be my first LE pins and I'm so hyped for this pin drop. She'll be as tall as my Harpy pin is wide at 3".

    A shape-shifting seductress of Hecate’s coven, the Empusa lures wanderers with her beauty before revealing her monstrous form. Known for her flaming hair, bronze leg, and craving for blood, she is a symbol of illusion, temptation, and terror walking in moonlight.

    This option was requested by one of our backers! 💖 I honestly love the idea of Cerberus color variants like the Fenrir variants

  • Chibi Cerberus 👼🏻🐕
    Another suggestion by one of our backers! 🥰
